June 8 - Atlantic Book Awards: Tough Topics in Children’s Literature
Virtual Zoom Event - Register here - 6 pm EDT / 7 pm ADT

THANKS A LOT, UNIVERSE is nominated for the Ann Connor Brimer Award for Atlantic Canadian Children’s Literature, and I’ll be joining fellow nominees Jodie Callaghan (The Train) and Rebecca Thomas (Swift Fox All Along) to discuss writing about tough topics for young readers and explore the challenge of turning difficult subjects into compelling children’s literature. This conversation will be hosted by acclaimed author Sheree Fitch, recipient of the 2020 Brimer Award for Everybody’s Different on EveryBody Street.

I’m also doing a couple of school workshops with the Hackamatack Children’s Choice Book Awards, and of course I’ll be attending the Atlantic Book Awards Gala on June 9 at Paul O’Regan Hall. Lots of great things happening!
